We are pleased to share that the Frisco-Allen, Texas Area Alumnae Panhellenic was recognized twice by the National Panhellenic Conference for excellence in the 2005-2007 Biennial. NPC is the national umbrella organization that governs all collegiate and alumnae organizations.

FATAAP received both the Citation of Merit award and the Excellence in Programming award.

Congratulations to the officers and members for all their hard work in bringing this honor to the Frisco-Allen area!

Please join us at Kimberly Bailey’s house on March 13 for a very important meeting, as we discuss the officer slate for 2008-2009, and also finalize plans for our spring forums. Since the forums are our main outreach to area high school students, your help and feedback will be critical!

Panhellenic Members: if you did not receive the Evite for the March member meeting, please contact Kimberly at president@fataap.org.

November Member Meeting

Filed under: Events, 2007-2008 on Wednesday, October 24th, 2007 by Tracy | Comments Off

Make plans to join us on Thursday, November 8, for our “Make It, Bake It, Fake It” Auction!

This is always a fun night, one that has become a FATAAP tradition. Each attendee brings an item that would make a nice small gift — either something you crafted (”Make It!”), cooked (”Bake It!”) or bought (”Fake It”). The catch is that the item is always completely wrapped, often in a creatively deceptive package, so no one can tell what’s inside.

Then, we will bid small cash amounts against each other in a live auction to purchase the item, sight unseen. Finally everyone opens their “win” to see what new treasure they’ll be taking home. It’s an entertaining way to see how creative your fellow alumnae can be, and to raise a little money for the FATAAP scholarship fund.

Bring cash or your checkbook, and your wrapped contribution to the auction. Use your imagination to disguise your item while wrapping it… but thanks to our parliamentarian Kim, the trick of using a wine bottle canister to hold anything but wine has already been busted! You’ll have to think outside the box (or bag, or basket).

The Evite has just gone out for this event, so if you did not receive it, please email Tracy at vp@fataap.org.

Updates from the October Meeting

Welcome to the new members we met at our Home For The Holidays event last month! We had a lovely dinner, courtesy of Shelley, our talented hostess (and Treasurer).

Many of you asked, so here is a PDF of the recipe for the delicious butternut squash cannelloni we enjoyed. As to the recipe for the pomegranate champagne punch, Shelley says, “I just added Pom’s pomegranate juice and a little Grand Marnier to champagne.” (Yes, if you missed this meeting, you missed a good one!)

We also reviewed some important upcoming dates for FATAAP. Mark your calendars for these:

  • November 8: Member Meeting (”Make It, Bake It, Fake It” Auction)
  • December 1: “Merry Main Street” in the Frisco Square
  • December 11: Member Meeting (Holiday Exchange Party)
  • January 5: FATAAP Winter Tea
  • January 10: Member Meeting (Boys & Girls Club Program)

Finally, we have been making some long-needed updates to our mailing list, so if you think you should be receiving emails from FATAAP but are not, let us know. It’s possible that your spam filters are catching our Evites, or that you have changed email addresses and forgotten to update us.

See you in November!
